We have a professional and courteous team with a fleet of approximately 275 transit and paratransit vehicles providing the highest quality public transportation services possible.
Our company believes in giving back to the community. We work very closely with the United Way of Long Island and other local organizations supporting important programs for people in need.
Protecting Long Island’s environment is an important core value that drives our business decisions. Our company gets 25% of its power from solar energy and we have prepared all of our state-of-the-art facilities for the future of all-electric school buses.
Suffolk County Transit is continually investing in the latest technology to ensure our riders have access to the safest and most efficient public transit system possible — FastFare and TransLoc rider apps are just two of the latest advancements in our public transit services.
FastFare is a software application that allows the Transit Ridership the ability to ride the system cashless. The Rider fills their FastFare wallet, which resides on their cell phone, with pre-purchased tickets to be utilized as needed.
TransLoc allows the Riders to see, in real-time, where their bus is, when the bus will arrive for their scheduled pick-up and how long it will take for the bus to deliver them to their destination. Additionally, TransLoc gathers ridership data to be used to help develop route efficiency.
